Hi all-I'm back!
I spent the last month surrounded by boxes. Yep, I moved......into a larger apartment. No longer do I sleep in the living room so that I can have a sewing room. Woohoo! Of course, there are still some boxes to empty and arranging and rearranging to do, but I can use my sewing machine again. Picture me dancing LOL.
I finished my January calendar block
- Day 27, 30 and 31--fabric I used for the 2009 Block Swap
- Day 28--scrap from George's quilt
- Day 29--just a filler from my scrap box
I also finished a block for February using my move as a theme. Not my original plan for my blocks, but it still represents what I was doing in even if it wasn't sewing!
- Brown to represent the dead grass of winter
- Heart fabrics to represent Valentine's Day
- Red brick for the old apt building
- Country kitchen fabric to represent the heart of my home
- Pine needles to represent the trees at my new place
- Yellow brick for the new apt building
- Stone path to represent all the walking in and out with boxes
- and, at the bottom, a piece of winter forest for the view from my new home
And.......
My Feb and March A Tisket A Tasket blocks are ready for embroidery!
Well, better get those Swap Blocks to the post office.
